PLEASANT VALE
SD 3178
1917 - 1960
SE 7 - 38 - 8 - W5
This marker proudly identifies the school building located in a peaceful setting southwest of Rocky. Settlers here joined together to provide a school for their children. The land for the school, the logs and the labor were all donated. It served the community well for a quarter of a century until a framed building on a parcel on the west side of the log school was opened. The school operated until 1960 when students were bussed to town. It is still being used by the community and remnants of the log building remain on its site as well.
