GARTH

The first school in this district operated from 1914 to 1945 on the NE 13 -39 - 8 - W5.

As was often the case, the earliest school in a district was not intended to be permanent and a new accommodation, sometimes at a new site, was provided for students.  Ultimately, Garth students were bussed to a larger center, in this case it was to Rocky Mountain House.

Note:  The second location was chosen for the marker because it was on a main road.  If anyone has a picture of the second school, a copy would be much appreciated.  The first school, picture attached, was approximately one half mile south of this.
